What to know
Launch week falls during daylight saving, so states don't all share one offset. NSW, Victoria, the ACT, Tasmania and South Australia are on daylight time, and Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia are not. Because the store uses a single timestamp, Perth players are the big winners: 9pm on a Wednesday instead of midnight.
New Zealand accounts unlock two hours before Australia, at 10pm AEDT on Wednesday. Your unlock follows the region of your PlayStation or Xbox account, not where you are physically, so an Australian account in Auckland still waits for the Australian time.
Pre-loading opens on Thursday 12 November. If the leaked 210 GB PS5 size holds, it takes about 9 hours 20 minutes on a 50 Mbps NBN plan running at full speed, and about 4 hours 40 minutes at 100 Mbps. Start the night the pre-load opens.
